I have a lot of wonderful memories from Southside, full of good times with good friends.
One of my favorite "in class" memories, though, is sitting in Ms. Watts' English class one spring day of my junior year. I heard a shriek, Ms. Watts sprung to the window (the first to look out), and whadya know: It's a motorcyclist zooming down the front drive wearing nothing but a crash helmet!
Had to scavenge the yearbook to get a copy of my senior picture. The quality's not too good, but that's not a bad thing--that bow tie and helmet hair could stop a train!

I took up cycling several years ago, and it is my favorite pastime and stress reliever. I have ridden in a number of long distance events, including the "Hotter 'N Hell Hundred" 100 mile ride in Texas the last two years.

My wife, Susan, was born and raised in Indiana, and is a graduate of IU. So she grew up on basketball. She's grown to like football, though; especially the high school variety. That helps, since both of our kids have been in the Southside Band, and we've gone to a lot of games the last few years.
Our son is now a junior in the Southside Band, and our daughter is now a freshman in the U of A Razorback Marching Band. On this particular weekend in November, we went to Bentonville on Friday night for a Southside playoff game, and went to Little Rock on Saturday morning for a Razorback game. Back to back wins made for a fun (if tiring) fall weekend!
