Obituary

 

Celia Lynn Waddell, 58, of Fort Smith, died April 9, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born December 31, 1957 in Lawton, OK to Jack Lee and Carolyn Lois Stephens Waddell. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Celia loved to read and write poetry, but most of all she loved dogs.

She is survived by three step sisters, Vicky Holleman and husband Stanley of Fort Smith, Claudia Moreton and husband Tommy of Fort Smith, and Shirley LaBorn and husband Karl of Fort Smith; four step brothers, Harold Boerner and wife Nancy of Fort Smith, David Boerner and wife Pam of Little Rock, Greg Boerner and wife Trina of Fort Smith, and Gary Boerner and wife Ruthie of Fort Smith; thirteen step nieces and nephews, and twenty two great step nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Carolyn Waddell and step mother, Elizabeth Boerner Waddell.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Cemetery all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her step brothers and step brother in laws, Harold Boerner, David Boerner, Greg Boerner, Gary Boerner, Tom Moreton, and Karl LaBorn.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Tara Slate, Betty Inman, Bonnie Rogers, Linda Brauer, Marilyn Willmon, Erika Shaffer, Susan Davis, Casey Jeffries, Sherry Russell, and Susie Wiley.

Celia was in girl scouts with me and lived just up the street, she was a very strong lady and Celia had a long bout with ALS.  I wish her extended family love and prayers.
