Marc was a wonderful friend to me during high school.  He was witty and fun to be with in class and on stage.  I remember him well and very fondly.  I remember how cute he was, what a great personality he had and that he had great hair!  He had a way of making you feel good about yourself and important to him.  I lost touch with him after high school, as I did with most of you, and was very sorry to see that he is gone from this world.

Marc was such a gifted and funny guy.  He was a tremendous speaker.  My most vivid (indeed, unforgettable) memory is that while at Arkansas Boys' State together -- with probably a dozen or so other classmates -- Marc decided to run for Governor and asked me if I'd be his campaign manager. The elections seemed based almost entirely on the voters' reactions to a speech and I knew Marc could deliver a good one. Sure enough, he was elected, and in "realpolitik" fashion, he asked me what appointed position I wanted in the state government. I asked for, and got, Director of Education. So while Marc went off and spent the day in the real Governor's office, I got to sit in the office of the Director of Education (whose name I cannot remember) and learn all about what that person did in Little Rock.  I'm sorry to hear Marc passed away but I'll never forget "the Governor."
