I went to school at Central Baptist College in
Conway where I met my husband. We were married in 1977 and lived in Conway for 10 years. I worked at a title company and then in the personnel office at a local factory until our first daughter was born. I stayed at home with her and started a piano teaching business. In 1989 we built our home in Greenbrier next door to my parents who had moved to Greenbrier 2 years before. I built a piano studio in my home and expanded my business to around 40 students. In 2001 our first daughter, Katie graduated high school and went to college. I had a friend that worked at a local bank in town that asked me if I would work part time in their Mortgage Department. I agreed and started working 10 - 15 hours a week in the mornings. It wasn't long until they asked me work more and more hours. They eventually made me a mortgage loan officer. I was working at the bank until 3:00 and then would head home to teach piano. In 2004, the head of the mortgage department was promoted to Bank Manager and I was asked to go full time and take her position as head of the Mortgage Department. I decided to give up my piano teaching business and pursue this opportunity. This is what I am doing today and love it! It's been a real challenge (especially the last 2 or 3 years) and takes a lot of hours each week, but it is definitely in my blood! My oldest daughter, Katie got her degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance and now teaches around 35 vocal and piano students at the piano studio in my home. It's kind of neat to have passed that on down to her. Katie also is the full time Children's Director at our church and directs a 40 -50 member children's choir. We attend Springhill Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Katie married Jon Patrom, who is the Marketing Director at the bank I work at, in 2007. They live in Greenbrier about 5 minutes from us. I don't have any grandchildren yet, but hope to someday. My youngest daughter Stephanie graduated high school in 2009 and just completed her 1st year of college. She is pursuing a degree in Graphic Design. She also works at a local daycare in town part time and volunteers a lot at our church in the children's department. I am the organist for our church and my husband teaches the young adult Sunday School class. My husband has been a furniture salesman at Hambuchen Home Furnishings in Conway for 33 years. In my opinion, he is a very talented sales person and has been the top salesman every year for the past 25 years (maybe even more).
Both of my parents are still living and live next door to me. They are both still in pretty good health.
That about sums it up for me. Would love to hear from some of my classmates. It seems like I've been out of touch for a loooooong time!
